To strengthen the WHO Bangladesh office and enhance collaboration with national health authorities and partners including academia by providing technical support and assistance in generation of high-quality evidence and ethical research. In addition, institutionalize it by building and enhancing research capacity leading to evidence-based health planning, resource mobilization and management of WHO collaborative programmes, and by providing increased interface through advocacy and documentation.

- Plan and guide to conduct good quality ethical research for Sustainable Development Goals: prioritize research areas, and design, implement monitor report and disseminate studies for evidence based policies and programmes;
- Support academia and other research institutes to build/ enhance capacity in preparing study protocols and manuscripts, and review these for implementation and publication respectively to ensure ethical research;
- Provide support to MOH&FW and its directorates on ethical research: in accordance with the Country Cooperation Strategy and the Organization’s and national health policies and procedures.
- Technically contribute to WHO country office to ensure ethical and high quality research: support Research Review Committees, review study proposals, manuscripts; and conduct staff development and learning training sessions for WHO staffs to enhance ethical and good quality research;
- Facilitate coordination mechanism for research networks to promote ethical research;
- Work in close coordination with concerned units in WHO South East Asia Regional Office, especially Research and Innovation unit on matters related to WCO Bangladesh research planning and implementation of tasks.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.

- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in planning the design and prepare high quality research protocols, support to conduct and monitor high quality national surveys, train study teams
Skills:
- Thorough knowledge of high quality research implementation (design, conduct, monitor, summarize, translate and disseminate).
- Ability to produce results, conceptualize issues, analyse qualitative and quantitative data, and to write technical reports.
- Research capacity building through hands-on and participatory approach.
- Demonstrated ability to work in harmony with national/ international staff and partners.
- Excellent writing skills including ability to present technical information.
