JOB DESCRIPTION:In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.We are excited to be recruiting for a newly created position of National Sales Manager for UK & Ireland, leading a team of 4 Regional Sales Managers and accountable for all sales, profit levels and operational expenditure for the EP division.What you’ll do:

  • Play a strong leading role in the EP senior leadership team and to drive the field force to deliver monthly, quarterly and annual plans for UK & Ireland and grow market share;
  • Understand the dynamics of the regional EP market, the healthcare and economic environment to identify opportunities to grow market share in the region, inlcuding competitor offerings;
  • Contribute a national perspective to the development of country level strategic objectives and translate this with the RSMs into local plans;
  • Contribute to building and leading a high performance organization by selecting, training, coaching and developing people;
  • Provide National forecasts, business reports and information flows to the General Manager as required and supports strategic/operating plan process and re-evaluates forecast and responds accordingly;
  • Ensures sales process effectiveness, ensuring sales tactics are planned for each region, ensures appropriate cross-divisional input and contributes to joint sales visits;
  • Specify the overall regional organizational design and headcount required to achieve strategic and operating goals in the light of local business conditions and forecasts and adapts as required;
  • Role model Abbott values and ensure all in-country activities maintain a positive customer perception of the brand;
  • Build strong relationship with external decision influencers, KOLs etc.;

What you’ll need:

  • A degree in life science or equivalent.
  • First line leadership within complex medical devices with proven cycles of successful management of sales teams.
  • Ideally UK/IRE EP market knowledge and relationships within cardiology.
  • Prior exposure to P&L/finance systems and extensive knowledge of the NHS buying process, contracts and tenders and leading large-scale negotiations.
  • Capital and consumable experience, and ideally an understanding of software sales.
  • Preferably experience of a product launch.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • To be driven, results orientated.
