Salary: $5,506.00 – $7,399.00 Monthly
The salary range listed includes a general wage increase of 2% for all state employees effective July 1, 2026.
Please note: In addition to the salary range advertised, the incumbent will receive an additional 5% King County duty station pay.

Responsibilities:
This position independently supports region and agency efforts to acquire easements, grant easements, and resolve trespasses. This position serves as an agency expert on rights-of-way (ROW) granting and acquisitions. Responsibilities include ensuring that projects on state lands meet obligations to the trusts, are consistent with applicable laws and policy, and bring sensible and sustainable solutions to complex problems. This position will research, coordinate, and prepare ROW agreements, assist with evaluating and processing Land Transactions, assist internal and external customers with ROW needs, and track and coordinate responses or actions to trespasses. This requires the ability to work closely with both internal and external partners across a number of disciplines, including real estate, contract law, forestry, engineering, agriculture, utilities, natural resources sciences, environmental law, and more. The position is an excellent opportunity to expand your abilities in these areas while also developing your knowledge of history in relation to state trust lands.
This position also supervises and provides technical expertise and practical guidance to the Contract Specialist 1, who manages Land Use Licenses and the Region Special Forest Products (SFP) program. This includes overseeing the processes and procedures for auctioning SFP leases, selling SFP permits, and issuing other permits related to actions on state lands.
