The Town of Plymouth is seeking qualified applicants for the position of NATURAL RESOURCES & SUSTAINABILITY SPECIALIST for the Department of Energy and Environmental Affairs. This position will perform administrative and field work providing ecological, environmental management, climate resilience, and sustainability; and other related work.

Essential functions are to manage the town-owned conservation land and wetlands, as well as the town’s wildlife; assist in the management of the town’s shellfish population; identify and assist in solving environmental problems. Assist in the design, planning, implementation, and monitoring of ecological restoration and watershed projects through short-term and long-term needs. Coordinate with non-governmental organizations, and local, state, and federal agencies on project implementation, restoration activities, and public outreach. Assist the Climate Resilience and Sustainability Planner in adapting to, and mitigating, the negative externalities associated with anthropogenic induced climate change, focusing on restoration of essential ecosystem services, and implementing market-based solutions to mitigate the effects of climate change. This position will assist to implement sustainability, adaptation, mitigation, resilience, and energy saving programs within Plymouth’s municipal, residential, and commercial communities.

Bachelor’s degree in natural resources, conservation, energy, or environmental policy/management, or a related field; four years of experience in natural resources management, law enforcement or conservation operations and management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary: $33.4561 per hour, 40 hours per week. This posting will remain open until filled.
