The Natural Resources Technician III directs maintenance and restoration efforts in natural areas across Dakota County parks, greenways, park conservation areas, and private property protected by conservation easements. The Natural Resources Technician III will perform highly skilled work, assist in the coordination of complex tasks, and provide technical assistance for the successful implementation of numerous and diverse natural resource restoration and stewardship projects. This includes performing work planning, administering quotes and contracts, managing routine natural area maintenance, overseeing restoration projects and assisting other departments as assigned.
The Technician III will act as a lead person, giving work direction to full-time and limited-term staff and volunteers in order to conduct vegetation management, wildlife and vegetation surveys, and water quality improvement activities. In addition, the incumbent will coordinate natural resource work with contractors, institutional work crews, Conservation Corps Minnesota crews, natural resource management, park maintenance and operational staff. The Technician III will work most closely with all Natural Resources staff and reports directly to the Natural Resources Supervisor. We are currently recruiting to fill one full-time permanent position.

Minimum Qualifications
- One year of training and/or degree beyond high school focused on forestry, natural resource management, or a closely related field.
AND - Three years of direct hands-on natural resource restoration, land management, or landscaping work experience.
OR - An equivalent combination of education and direct hands-on natural resource restoration, land management, or landscaping work experience to equal or exceed 4 years.
AND - Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with ability to get a Class A Commercial Driver’s within 1 year.
