The Southern Operations Manager is a vital role within the Nevada Conservation Corps (NCC) program dedicated to advancing our mission of environmental stewardship and community service.
This role, based at our Mojave field office in Las Vegas, Nevada, is central to advancing our mission alongside community and agency partners on national parks, forests, and public lands. The Coordinator will play a pivotal leadership role, guiding our Nevada Conservation Corps’ programs through southern Nevada and the Sierra Nevada in California. Responsibilities include forging conservation projects with agency partners, overseeing project execution, and setting performance benchmarks. The role demands managing both the logistical and administrative aspects of field operations, including supervision of field staff and AmeriCorps members. Our projects range from trail maintenance and habitat restoration to reduction of hazard fuels, often in remote locations, prioritizing safety and quality assurance. These projects are often executed in remote locations over multiple days, necessitating stringent safety protocols. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational, communicative, and problem-solving abilities, contributing to professional development within the institute.

LOCATION
Las Vegas: Beyond the bright lights of the Strip, the Southern Nevada District Office manages more than three million acres of Mojave Desert in Clark and Nye counties. The scenery varies from dramatically colorful geologic landforms and largely unspoiled panoramic vistas of Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area to remote and rugged wild landscapes of Gold Butte Back Country Byway. Recreation opportunities abound and viewing sites for desert plants and animals are easily accessible. Resources of the Southern Nevada BLM District include desert tortoise habitat, big game habitat, Wilderness Study Areas, active grazing allotments, abandoned mining areas, historic and prehistoric cultural sites, and wild horse management areas.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary range is $27.10 to $29.41 hourly, DOE. In addition to a competitive base salary, this full-time, onsite position includes comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as mental health support resources, 401(k) retirement savings with up to 4% GBI match, competitive PTO accrual, paid holidays (10 per year), and family leave.
