  • Base: Sustrans hub in Belfast with the flexibility to work from home.

About the role

We have a new vacancy to join us as a Network Development Officer as part of The Network
Development Team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference by proactively
developing walking and cycling schemes, including the National Cycle Network (NCN) across
Northern Ireland.

As the Network Development Officer, you will help the Routes and Networks Senior Project
Manager to develop, maintain and promote innovative cycling and walking solutions from initial
engagement through to design. You will also be delivering projects that are shaping local cycle
networks in towns and cities across the different Council areas.

You will be producing technically competent and imaginative solutions to developing high
quality walking and cycling infrastructure, through masterplans development, GIS mapping, 3D
visuals, technical drawings etc.

We offer true hybrid working, a flexible mix of working from home and occasional travel to
the office hub in Belfast.

About you

You should have the ability to confidently engage with community groups and workplaces in the
design and delivery of infrastructure projects, e.g. organising or facilitating engagement
events.

You will be of undergraduate level or equivalent from the relevant fields of Urban Design,
Architecture, Town Planning, Transport Planning, Geography or Engineering.

You will demonstrate good working knowledge and experience of the following software: GIS
mapping, Photoshop, SketchUp, Illustrator, InDesign, AutoCAD.

With excellent organisational skills, you will be able to plan, prioritise and manage your
workload, whilst working to tight deadlines.
