Are you a Newly Qualified Social Worker who will have successfully passed your social work degree course and be available to start this Summer?

We will support and guide you through the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) Programme to ensure you fulfil your potential as a developing practitioner. When you join our Children’s Social Work Service in Kent ‘you’ soon becomes ‘we’. From day one we will help you with a full induction, regular supervision and ongoing support from an outstanding team.

As one of the largest Children’s Social Work Service in the country we can make sure in your first year of post qualifying you will have a protected caseload. Following satisfactory completion of your probation, a years’ service in the role and after demonstrating your ability to manage a full caseload, a £3,000 annual market premium will be payable. You are also entitled to a £2,000 annual car market premium (subject to eligibility).
This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
The role requires you to be mobile throughout a wide operational area including travelling around the county of Kent and beyond to transport children and their belongings and be available to do so in an emergency.
This role is subject to holding a Full UK Driving License – The Council is committed to making reasonable adjustments so whilst this job requires the jobholder to drive your application will still be considered if you are unable to drive due to a disability.
