Lewes prison is based near the centre of the historical town of Lewes, which is just a 5 minute walk away. Hours 37.5 hours a week working Monday – Sunday 7pm-07.30am. The working pattern is, 3 shifts x 11.5 per week for three weeks and 4 shifts x 11.5 every fourth week. • Lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions.
• You will undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication
• Attend emergency response situations
• Assess patients, and undertake reception screening.
• You will assess patients health needs using an evidence based framework and be able to risk assess use sound clinical knowledge.
• You will ensure that you assess physical and mental health of prisoners on admission to the prison and throughout their period of custody so that any appropriate referral can be made.
• You will also be responsible for making a clinical judgement with regard to any immediate need and long term treatment.
