Your new job

Working within a supportive team, the Art Group facilitator will develop, deliver and promote youth participation programs and activities within the context of the Art group. The focus is on promoting a socially inclusive environment for young people experiencing mental health issues to be able to engage with a range of early help-seeking mediums.
Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager, you will:

  • Plan art activities for the session and facilitate the Ninja art program which runs on a weekly basis within school terms.
  • Coordinating SMS reminders, recording notes onto the Electronic Medical Record, and the maintenance of all other data collection requirements (with allowance of 0.5 hour for associated for setup and associated administrative duties).
  • Where appropriate, to coordinate and facilitate opportunities for young people to engage with other supports within headspace.
  • Provide an environment that is socially inclusive and provides an alternative entry point into headspace and supports early access into the service.

What you’ll need

You are passionate, energetic and determined to make a difference to health and wellbeing outcomes for young people. The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:

  • Relevant certificate level qualification and/or relevant experience.
  • Prior experience in group facilitation is desirable.
  • Experience and/or understanding of mental health, drug and alcohol and other health/social issues facing young people.
  • Experience in the development and delivery of creative Arts programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve outcomes in partnership with young people and other members of the headspace team.
