ABOUT US
The Anthony Costa Foundation is a family foundation established to support the philanthropy of the Anthony and Elaine Costa and the Robert and Rita Costa families. The Foundation seeks to make a positive impact in the communities where our families live and work by ensuring children and young people can thrive, everyone has a safe place to live and our communities are vibrant. Given the strong ties both families have to Geelong region, the Foundation’s geographic focus for giving is on eligible organisations, projects, initiatives and activities within this region.
THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Non-Executive Director to join our board. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the not-for-profit sector across a range of subject areas, bringing valuable insights and expertise to critically assess grant applications, help guide our strategic direction and ensure effective governance.
THIS BOARD ROLE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Developing strategic and organisational plans for the Foundation
- Assessing, reviewing, and supporting the Foundation’s 3 grant application rounds
- Assisting to review and develop any governance requirements
- Attending a majority of 6 Board meeting per annum and reviewing and preparing for meetings
- Developing and maintaining relationships with all Foundation stakeholders
- Serve as advocates and ambassadors for the Foundation to family members and the community
- Attending grantee site visits, fundraising events, ceremonies or other events as a representative of the Foundation as available and appropriate.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE YOU WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING
- Non -executive director or CEO experience in a not-for-profit/philanthropic sector
- Expertise critically reviewing, assessing, allocating and monitoring grant programs
- A strong strategic, governance and financial literacy
- Character and personal spirit marked by empathy, compassion, altruism, and generosity
- Ability to personally attend some meetings in Geelong
- Ideally completion of or working towards completion of AICD course
- You must have a Director Identification Number (or willing to obtain one)
