Role and responsibilities
The water, hygiene, sanitation assistant position consists in providing administrative and technical support to EHA teams.
In this context, the main responsibilities of the holder are:
Ensure adhesion to NRC policies, tools, manuals and guidelines.
Assist the implementation of the program portfolio in accordance with the action plan.
Independently implement procedures and activities in the context of its own function or its essential skills, depending on the delegations.
Show initiative to resolve daily problems in accordance with procedures, priorities and standards agreed for the work field.
Prepare and develop the situation reports as required by management.
Ensure the appropriate classification of documents.
Develop the quantitative and estimated quotes of construction/rehabilitation of water sources, drilling, latrines, showers, impluviums and other EHA community infrastructure identified by NRC
Facilitate and supervise construction and/or rehabilitation of water (sources, drilling) and sanitation installations (latrine, shower) and other EHA community infrastructure identified by the NRC.
Participate in preliminary activities (needs assessment, identification of beneficiaries, design of technical documents) in the EHA sector
Support the capacity building of masons, skilled and unskilled workers and local populations.
Ensure physico-chemical and bacteriological analyzes of the water points built/rehabilitated
Promote the sustainability of EHA interventions and community infrastructure through technical training in the management and maintenance of works.
Collect and share the weekly evidence and the required verification sources of the EHA installations (distribution lists, photos, success stories, testimonies, minutes)
Provide information back to the hierarchical manager on the goods and materials ordered, as well as on the quality of the work of entrepreneurs.
Share the field observations, in particular the comments of the beneficiaries, in order to improve the program.
2. Professional skills
As part of this recruitment, NRC seeks to recruit a candidate with the following professional skills and skills.
General professional skills:
Be ready and capable of traveling and working regularly in the field (outside the office)
Mastery of French, both in writing and orally
Mastering local languages in the intervention area.
Technical diploma of 2 years in a field in connection with construction, civil engineering, hydraulic engineering.
Have knowledge in water quality analysis (use of kits).
Have experience in participatory working methodologies with communities in the desired construction work.
Have knowledge about the use of technical drawings tools (AutoCAD, Sketchup, Archicad, EPANET, etc.) and office tools, notably Excel and Word
Have good planning and activity monitoring skills;
