Role and responsibilities
The water, hygiene, sanitation assistant position consists in providing administrative and technical support to EHA teams.
In this context, the main responsibilities of the holder are:
Ensure adhesion to NRC policies, tools, manuals and guidelines.
Assist the implementation of the Wash program portfolio in accordance with the action plan.
Independently implement procedures and activities in the context of its own function or its essential skills, depending on the delegations.
Responsible for the organization and execution of tasks in accordance with priorities and standards.
Developing and maintaining knowledge of the specialized work field in which technical assistance and support are provided, in order to be the most effective in the support of the team.
Show initiative to resolve daily problems in accordance with procedures, priorities and standards agreed for the work field.
Prepare and develop the reports as required by management.
Ensure the appropriate classification of documents.
Facilitate and supervise community mobilization, behavioral change interventions and distributions of Wash articles kits
Support the implementation, training and monitoring of local Wash management structures (water points, sanitation committee, school hygiene clubs, etc.)
Contribute to the identification of the needs to conduct specific CAP, Wash’em type assessments, barriers’ analysis, their design and implementation
Participate in the contextual definition of themes, messages, approaches and the design of WASH behavior change tools according to the target group (local authorities, management structures, participating households) on each of the themes recommended by the NRC program.
Collect and share the weekly sources of evidence/means of verifying Soft Wash activities (photos, successful stories, testimonies, epidemiological data, distribution lists).
Follow the process of supplying goods and services for Soft Wash activities and providing continuous feedback on quality to its manager.
2. Professional skills
As part of this recruitment, NRC seeks to recruit a candidate with the following professional skills and skills.
General professional skills:
Be ready and capable of traveling and working regularly in the field (outside the office)
Mastery of French, both in writing and orally
Mastering local languages in the intervention area.
To be at least holder of a 2 -year diploma in social sciences, local development, public health or health promotion, anthropology or in any other similar field
Have in -depth knowledge of the humanitarian context of territories and allocation areas
Have knowledge of standards, especially sphere
Have knowledge proven in theory and behavior change approaches
Have experience in participatory working methodologies with communities and community mobilization
Have proven knowledge and experience in the capacity building of communities
Have good planning and activity monitoring skills
