Founded in 1987, Damien Center is Indiana’s oldest and largest AIDS service organization (ASO) and serves more than 8000 individuals living with or at risk for HIV through a comprehensive, innovative approach to care and prevention. Position Summary:
Team Damien is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Clinic team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality clinical care to patients in an outpatient setting, ensuring a positive patient experience through effective communication, skilled clinical practices, and a strong commitment to patient safety and satisfaction. This position will report to the Lead RN of the Clinic. This role does not have any permanent administrative or supervisory duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provide direct patient care, including nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care in an outpatient setting that adheres to best practices and standards of care.
- Provide triage support in person and over the phone to patients of the Damien Center.
- Conduct patient education and counseling on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Monitor and document patient progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records.
- Assist in the coordination of patient referrals, follow-up appointments, and continuity of care.
- Perform clinical tasks such as vital signs monitoring, wound care, specimen collection, and diagnostic tests.
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, standards, and policies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical protocols and procedures.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and their families.
- Provide clinical support to medical assistants to ensure that standards of care and scope of practice are maintained.
- Actively participate in maintaining a supportive and healthy team culture.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
- Licensure: Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an ambulatory care or outpatient setting. Experiencer working with diverse populations, including individuals living with HIV preferred. Clinical knowledge of HIV and STI and treatment preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
