The Health Program Nurse is responsible for ensuring, monitoring and evaluating all patient nursing care related activities in the MMU by providing effective nursing leadership and providing care and treatments to patients, respecting at all times, the rules of hygiene, safety, comfort, dignity, medical secret and patient confidentiality in the targeted locations in Sinjar District.
Key Responsibilities
Know, promote, implement and follow up the universal hygiene standards/ precautions, bio-hazard prevention and infection control, security rules and other protocols and procedures in the medical premises and ensuring high standards of hygiene of his/her working environment. Respecting medical secrets and confidentiality at all times
Organize and carry out care and treatments according to medical prescriptions, and assisting during consultations, daily rounds and other medical procedures. Participating in health education of the patient (and family) when necessary.
Provide support in the clinical supervision and training (e.g. triage, workflow, stock keeping, effective assistance, proper documentation, health education, etc.) based on identified needs.
Collaborate closely with the team in order to provide continuous quality of care and ensuring that patient interest and autonomy are respected at all times.
Provide support in checking, reviewing or providing new training on staff safety and hygiene e.g. standard infection control precautions, procedures in case of accidental blood exposure, waste disposal system, etc
Provide support in managing the pharmacy (ensuring the weekly orders are done, managing expired items and regular inventories) anticipating and communicating future needs
Provide support in ensuring proper and timely collection and registration of data for outpatient consultations and participating in monthly reporting according to management guidelines

Education / Experience Needed
Nursing bachelor’s degree (4 year).
Essential experience in the health care settings (PHCCs, hospitals, clinics)
Desirable 2 years of previous experience in other NGOs
