Job Summary

The REACH Program aims to improve access to quality and equitable primary healthcare services for Yazidi communities by addressing gaps in medical care. 

 

The Health Program Nurse is responsible for ensuring, monitoring and evaluating all patient nursing care related activities in the MMU by providing effective nursing leadership and providing care and treatments to patients, respecting at all times, the rules of hygiene, safety, comfort, dignity, patient privacy and confidentiality in the targeted locations in Sinjar District.

 

Job Duties: 

1) Knowing, promoting, implementing and following up the universal hygiene standards/ precautions, bio-hazard prevention and infection control, security rules and other protocols and procedures in the medical premises and ensuring high standards of hygiene of his/her working environment. Respecting privacy and confidentiality at all times.

2) Organizing and carrying out care and treatments according to medical prescriptions, and assisting during consultations, daily rounds and other medical procedures. Participating in health education of the patient (and family) when necessary. 

3) Providing support in the clinical supervision and training (e.g. triage, workflow, stock keeping, effective assistance, proper documentation, health education, etc.) based on identified needs.

4) Collaborating closely with the team in order to provide continuous quality of care and ensuring that patient interest and autonomy are respected at all times. 

5) Providing support in checking, reviewing or providing new training on staff safety and hygiene e.g. standard infection control precautions, procedures in case of accidental blood exposure, waste disposal system, etc.

6) Providing support in managing the pharmacy (ensuring the weekly orders are done, managing expired items and regular inventories) anticipating and communicating future needs.

7) Providing support in ensuring proper and timely collection and registration of data for outpatient consultations and participating in monthly reporting according to management guidelines.

8) Complete any other administrative tasks for the REACH team requested by the PM
