Nursery & Garden Operations Position Description

Help grow our business! Evergreen Heritage Center Foundation is currently hiring a Nursery & Garden Operations Professional to assist with planning and maintenance of our facilities. Evergreen is a historic farm known for its native plant nursery and garden facilities and trails. Evergreen hosts over 18,000 students and community members annually for field trips, events, workshops, and other education and tourism programs. Our Nursery primarily focuses on the cultivation and distribution of native plants and medicinal herbs, as well as preparing demonstration crops to showcase sustainable agriculture practices for students and community members. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity, Evergreen is working to increase revenue from our Native Plant Sales in an effort to support our programs, events, and workshops.

The Nursery & Garden Operations Professional will be responsible for:

• Planning and management of our gardens, including maintenance
• Creating a plan for native plant and medicinal herb sales including plant selection, sale goals, and required maintenance
• Planning and implementation of demonstration crops for use as a sustainable showcase for students and community members
• Daily management of our nursery facilities
• Assistance in development of programs, activities, and workshops relating to agriculture
• Work with Evergreen Heritage Center Leadership Team to develop and prepare crops needed for programs, workshops, and events
• Participation in education trainings as necessary
• Assistance instructing agriculture education programs
