The Opportunity

The Nutrition Assistant is responsible for implementation of all health and nutrition related activities including SAM, IYCF-E at local level using participatory and community based or outreach approaches. S/he is also expected to provide technical support Woreda Health extension Workers and other staff working in the area of under-five nutrition. S/he is also responsible for collecting child Health Data including growth monitoring and sharing for appropriate health expert for case identification based on the biometric information

The Individual

• BSC degree or Diploma in Public Health, Nursing and Human Nutrition and other related subject.
• Minimum of 2 years NGO related work experience for degree holders and 4 years of related work experience for diploma holders with CMAM intervention Project.

Languages required

• Fluency in English language is essential
• In addition to Amharic other local Knowledge of Local Languages is a desirable

Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)

• Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
• Ensures that all staff signed safeguarding policies;
