Nutrition Officer

Under the support and guidance of the supervisor, you will provide professional technical, operational, and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for the nutrition programmes/projects within the Country Programme, from development planning to delivery of results. In doing so, you will be implementing a variety of technical and administrative programme tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, programme progress monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of results.

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

• Support to programme development and planning
• Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results
• Technical and operational support to programme implementation
• Networking and partnership building
• Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building.

To qualify as a champion for every child you will have the below requirement:

Education:

• A university degree is required in one of the areas that are relevant to the work of the organization, preferred areas nutrition, public health, nutritional epidemiology, global/international health and nutrition, health/nutrition research, policy and/or management, health sciences, nutritional epidemiology, or another health-related science field that is considered relevant to the responsibilities described in the vacancy announcement.

Work Experience:

• A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas is required: nutrition, public health, nutrition planning and management, or maternal, infant and child health and/or nutrition care.
• Experience in health and/or nutrition programme and/or project development in a UN system agency or organization is an asset.
• Field work experience is an asset.
• Background or familiarity with emergency is an asset.
• Experience working with the UN, UNICEF or humanitarian organizations will be an asset.

Language Proficiency:

• Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
