About the Student Life Division
The Student Life division ensures the delivery of student-centred support across the student lifecycle that underpins the University’s broader strategic visions by delivering support services and functions that facilitate and enhance the academic mission of the institution. The Student Life division provides support services and programs that contribute to the student experience and success, including in the areas of health, counselling, disability services, orientation and transition, retention, student wellbeing, and student engagement through the activities of the Flinders University Student Association
About the Role
The Oasis Centre is a student community wellbeing centre focussed on supporting student success. Flinders University is seeking a proactive Oasis Coordinator, to lead the provision of programs, events and activities aimed at enhancing the mental health, wellbeing, connectedness and success of students.
Working as part of the Student Life Division, you will be responsible for increasing the visibility and access to mental health and wellbeing resources and services through coordinated campaigns and events both at Oasis and through outreach programs. You will consult with the Wellbeing Working Group to develop and deliver projects from the Whole-of-University Wellbeing Plan, and coordinate training to students and staff that focus on mental health and wellbeing.
You will also be required to:

Coordinate the Oasis Centre, which includes establishing key directions, managing staff and volunteers, and ensuring appropriate use of the Centre.

Undertake the development, coordination, and delivery of an annual program of events and activities that promote mental health and wellbeing of all students, including activities that encourage seeking help, reduction of stigma regarding mental ill health, diversity, and acceptance.

Provide leadership to a dedicated team of staff and volunteers in the continued development and delivery of programs and activities.
About You
The successful Oasis Coordinator will have sound knowledge and experience working in areas relating to health promotion, mental health, and wellbeing, and will prove their ability to develop, deliver and evaluate effective services and programs. You will be a positive and motivating individual committed to fostering a positive work culture, and building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including students from a diverse background, staff, and external providers.
The Oasis Coordinator will also demonstrate:

Experience to lead, motivate and develop high performing teams and the ability to support teams through change.

Practical understanding of community development and community engagement approaches including demonstrated skills in the recruitment and management of volunteers.

Evidence of health promotion experience outlining specific campaigns and mental health wellbeing projects.
