Communify Qld provides consumer driven care options for frail aged older people and younger people with a disability with high/complex care needs including those with dementia, to remain living at home independently. We aim to assist clients to achieve their optimum level of function, mobility and independence. Using the latest evidence and team based approaches to enablement and active aging this allied health service aims to maximise abilities, improve health status, cognitive connectedness, independence, health outcomes and wellbeing of our clients.
We require an experienced and caring Occupational Therapist to fulfil this newly created position. As part of our talented allied health team, this role is based in the Paddington, and surrounding inner northern Brisbane suburbs.
This is a diverse role with the opportunity to provide services across in home packaged aged care, home care, NDIS and our day respite centre.
You will have the opportunity to support a diverse clientele group, including under 65s, the frail, elderly and people with a cognitive impairment, including dementia.
Your aim will be to ensure positive outcomes for clients that enable them to continue living and be engaged in their community.
You will provide
- Comprehensive assessments and interventions in a community setting
- The development of individual and group activities using a client-centred approach
- Design and implement wellness programs
- Provide staff education through coaching and presentations

It’s Essential that you have
- Experience in an occupational therapist role
- Current AHPRA registration and tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
- Demonstrated experience in aged residential care and respite settings highly regarded
- Understanding and drive to make older people’s lives better
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with a commitment to providing high level customer service
- Current Open Driver’s License is essential
- National Police Certificate (required upon role offer)
- NDIS disability worker screening
- Fully vaccinated for COVID
