Your Opportunity
The Psychosocial Support Program (PSP) is a vital program in the community in partnership with the Healthy North Coast PHN supporting people living with severe and persistent mental health illness.
As a member of a multi-disciplinary team as an Occupational Therapist based at Port Macquarie, you will work alongside our Clinical Coordinators, Recovery Coordinators and Peer Advocates tasked with ensuring that our service not only meet but exceed expectations by providing evidence based, specialised supports. These supports may include conducting assessments, consulting with staff, clients, and other stakeholders, implementing support plans in group or individual settings. Building and maintaining strong effective relationships with key stakeholders in the local community will also be a crucial aspect of your role.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement client-centred recovery goal plans which drive positive outcomes for our clients
- Gathering supporting evidence for NDIS plans
- Provide client centred assessment, diagnosis, and assist in the implementation of strategies and service delivery models which target current waiting lists
- Implementing Support plans in either group or individual basis
- Build capacity of our clients to identify their goals, strengths and needs, and plan for their future
- Engaging and upskilling staff as well as the broader community on your specialised expertise in Occupational Therapy in Mental Health
- Refer clients out to other community and mainstream services as required
Requirements for Success
With a significant background in Mental Health and/or Community Services and with the child, youth & family sectors, you will be confident in your case management and assessment processes. Other requirements include:
- Must have qualifications in Allied Health – Occupational Therapist required with at least 2+ year experience required.
- Comprehensive understanding and experience in the mental health and wellbeing sector.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain sustainable internal and external relationships.
- A positive and person-centred and recovery orientated approach.
- Personal development and self-awareness including mastery with own wellness and confidence in own resilience.
- Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills.
- Full driver licence with no restrictions.
Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
