Hiring Unit:
Admissions

Position Summary:

  • Provide information concerning admission to the School of Music.  Explain general procedures concerning programs, admissions, auditions, current fees, student aid, and refer prospective applicants to relevant web and information resources.

  • Prioritize and respond to telephone and email inquiries. Help to ensure that applicants receive timely replies. Refer more complex questions to appropriate admissions personnel.

  • Provide clerical support and assists with general processing of admissions documents. File electronic documents. Follow up with applicants regarding missing admission documents. 

  • Receive and help process (uploads) recorded audio/video material. Record receipt of material in applicant’s file. Assist with the audition process. Enter audition information in applicant file, record audition confirmations, note cancellations and changes, forward to appropriate staff. Collect pay sheets from audition panel members.

  • Assist with preliminary calculation of admission averages, which are reviewed and verified by graduate studies.

  • Explain and demonstrate general features of automated admissions information systems to prospective students.

  • Prepare and upload undergraduate admission scholarship letter

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

  • Efficient, organized, team player. Must be client-focused and service-orientated. Ability to receive and relay information with accuracy. Ability to keep information confidential. Demonstrated knowledge of music and musical concepts. Demonstrated ability to work in a PC environment using MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and to learn other application programs.  Strong English writing skills. Spoken French. *Current students are not eligible to apply due to the confidentiality of academic records.

  • Diploma in Music or Arts Administration a strong asset

Minimum Education and Experience:

High School Diploma 2 Years Related Experience

Hourly Salary:

(AMUSE C) $16.06
