The role 

The Open University (OU) are recruiting an Office Coordinator to join the Strategy Office, operating at the centre of the OU and playing a key role in supporting the delivery of the OU’s Strategy.  

Working within the Strategy Office (SO), the Office Coordinator will support day-to-day operational activity to provide a standard and consistent approach to key SO support and administration functions.  Further, the role holder will support the day-to-day liaison with key University departments and functions related to Strategy Office operational activity to ensure alignment, compliance and best practice.

Skills and experience 

  • Evidence of a commitment to continuing self-development.
  • Significant relevant experience in an office environment in a secretarial or administrative role.
  • High level IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint
  • Strong numeric skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the confidence and ability to deal with a range of external contacts and to use discretion in dealing with others.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and exercise judgement within a specified area of responsibility.
