The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) is dedicated to reducing poverty and hunger through rice science; improving the health and welfare of rice farmers and consumers; and protecting the rice-growing environment for future generations. Job Purpose
The Community Relations and Partnerships Officer will provide administrative support to the Community Development Manager and Senior Manager for Philippine Relations in implementing community development initiatives in Los Banos and Bay and maintaining positive relationships with key Philippine stakeholders. The incumbent will assist in coordinating activities, managing communication channels, ensuring compliance with administrative requirements, and handling logistics for various stakeholders.
This position will be based at the IRRI Headquarters, Los Baños, Philippines and may only be filled by permanent citizens of the Philippines.
Roles and Responsibilities
Assist in the coordination and implementation of community development projects and initiatives in Los Baños and Bay and for key strategic partnership activities in the Philippines including logistical arrangements, scheduling meetings, and preparing documentation
Maintain accurate records of project activities, expenditures, and outcomes to support monitoring and reporting requirements
Support the development and dissemination of communication materials tailored to stakeholders in Los Baños and Bay, including newsletters, social media updates, and project reports, to engage and raise awareness of IRRI’s community development efforts
Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and effective communication of project updates, events, and opportunities in the border municipalities
Assist in organizing community events, workshops, and training sessions in Los Baños and Bay, and key Philippine partners including venue booking, participant registration, and logistics coordination
Provide on-site support during events to ensure smooth operations and address any logistical or administrative issues as they arise in the border municipalities
Liaise with stakeholder offices in Los Baños and Bay for day-to-day transactions, including coordination of meetings, exchange of information, and resolution of administrative issues
Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders in the border municipalities through regular communication and responsiveness to their needs and inquiries
Support the preparation of project reports, progress updates, and other documentation for internal and external Philippine stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting requirements
Compile and organize relevant data, photographs, and testimonials to illustrate the impact of IRRI’s community development efforts in the border municipalities
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 2 years work experience in a relevant field such as business administration, public administration, social sciences, or a related discipline
Skills Required
Mandatory
Minimum of 2 years of experience in administrative support, community relations, or related roles, preferably in an international or cross-cultural setting
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal in Tagalog
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with online collaboration tools and social media platforms
Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and maintain a positive and professional demeanor
Preferred
Experience working in community development, rural development, or related fields
Knowledge of basic project management principles and experience assisting in the coordination and implementation of projects or initiatives
Familiarity with administrative procedures, including record-keeping, financial management, and procurement processes
Ability to interact with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders in a culturally sensitive and respectful manner
