We invite applications for a full-time tenure-track assistant or associate professor in international relations who will also direct programming for the Sarah T. Hughes Field Politics Center in a new global direction, beginning in the 2025-26 academic year. We seek candidates with expertise in Latin American Politics, African Politics, or Middle East Politics who can also teach the core IR courses: Approaches to International Relations; International Political Economy; and the capstone Seminar in Theories of International Relations. The position carries a 3/2 teaching load with release time for directing the Sarah T. Hughes Field Politics Center.
The Sarah T. Hughes Field Politics Center was established with a goal of connecting the classroom and liberal arts education of Goucher College students with the world of practical politics and public affairs. We are excited for the Center to launch new programming with an emphasis on global politics that would be attractive to students in the Department of Political Science and International Relations.
Successful applicants will have teaching experience and demonstrate student-centered teaching and learning. It is helpful to have a familiarity with inclusive pedagogies that support equity and student success. Applicants should also demonstrate strong potential to be active scholars. Ph.D. is preferred, but ABD candidates with a defense date prior to August 2025 will be considered.

Salary Ranges:
Assistant: $60,753-67,503
Associate: $72,000-78,911
