“Hurras” is a Non-governmental Organization specializing in childcare and child protection, working to prevent all forms of violence, abuse, and exploitation that children may encounter in various environments by acting against and eliminating these cases through several activities such as education, rights Advocacy, protection, training, and psychological support.
Purpose of the position:
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the responsibility for ensuring that Hurras Network is delivering on its commitments through the provision of required operational support.
Key Responsibilities:
The Operations Officer will be working closely with the Operations Manager to conduct the following:
- Develop and implement operational plans in alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives.
- Coordinate and oversee day-to-day operations to ensure smooth execution of programs and projects.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of operations to ensure compliance with standards and achieve quality.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among different departments.
- Serve as a liaison between operational units to ensure smooth coordination.
- Manage organizational resources efficiently, including budgeting, procurement, and allocation.
- Ensure optimal utilization of human and material resources to support program goals.
- Collaborate with internal departments, external partners, and stakeholders to streamline operations.
- Build and maintain effective relationships to support the organization’s mission.
- Flexible Response resourcing: depending on prioritization of need, manage humanitarian response assets/stocks and provide surge support to emergency responses.
- Analyze current processes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Support the effective delivery of the operations’ strategic priorities and work plan through ongoing communications planning and implementation, to effectively engage and mobilize relevant stakeholders.
- Identify potential risks to operations, develop strategies for mitigation, and ensure organizational readiness to respond to unforeseen challenges or crises.
- Develop procedures to ensure legal and ethical compliance in all operations.
- Ensure that all operations department procedures are consistent and comply with Hurras network policies, especially safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Plan and prepare for crisis management., take swift and effective action to deal with emergencies.
- Provide regular reports on the performance of operations to the Operations manager.
- Perform other responsibilities as necessary to ensure the smooth operation of support departments, and to deputize for colleagues as appropriate.
- In coordination with the finance and legal teams:
– Responsible for preparing the reports required by the chartered accountant monthly and compiling and auditing the relevant financial documents.
– Preparing documentation of banking operations and the bank’s monthly report.
– Translate all required financial documents into Turkish/English as needed.
Required Work Experience and Qualifications:
- University degree in Business Administration, or any other related field.
- .Previous experience working for NGOs preferably in the child protection field
Required Competencies, Skills, and Requirements:
- Excellent English , Turkish, and Arabic communication skills (oral and written).
- High level of computer literacy (MS Office Word, Excel).
- Strong planning/anticipation and organizational skills, experience in planning and organizing meetings and events, with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret requirements and ground them in concrete work plans and deliverables.
- Ability to adopt a pro-active approach to problem solving working closely with the Managers and other colleagues as required.
- A strong team player with an empowering and collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
