The Caribbean Region is seeking an Operations Analyst (OA) to support the implementation of the IFC country strategy, business development, and transaction processing in the Dominican Republic (DR). The OA will work across different IFC sectors with regional, industry and World Bank teams to support the design, negotiation, structuring, and supervision of projects. The position will be based in Santo Domingo.

Duties and Accountabilities

Strategy
• Support the updating of the IFC strategy in the DR.
• Contribute to WBG strategy documents.

Business development and transaction processing
• Develop and maintain a good understanding of the economic, political and business environment in the DR and monitor sectoral and financial market developments.
• Work with investment, advisory, upstream, and relevant WBG teams to roll out the IFC strategy and develop a strong project pipeline.
• Build and maintain internal and external relationships to support business development, processing and portfolio management.
• Support investment teams on project design, structuring, and processing, as needed.
• Support missions/trips in the region.
• In the context of growing the business, help prepare high-quality briefs and presentations for WBG senior management.
• Monitor and update the project pipeline.

Portfolio management
• Develop a good understanding of the portfolio, assist with resolving issues, and contribute to maintaining good relationships with existing clients.

Selection Criteria

• Tertiary degree, preferably in finance, business administration, public policy, management, economics, or a relevant field.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience, including in management consulting, financial advisory, development finance, investment and commercial banking, and accounting.
• Experience or a strong interest in working in the DR.
• Strong analytical, credit, and financial modeling skills, and experience assessing the viability of business opportunities and risks will be an advantage.
• Ability to synthesize and organize information, and produce well-organized, impactful presentations and briefings notes.
• Good understanding of IFC’s investment and advisory business lines and products, and knowledge of the World Bank’s operations will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of industries (e.g. financial sector, infrastructure, energy, agribusiness, manufacturing, etc.) and opportunities in the region will be an advantage.
• Team player, collaborative, creative, client-oriented, and driven to build the business in the DR.
• Excellent English and Spanish language skills, written and oral. French fluency would be a plus.
