Consistent with this intention, from the onset, the position will assume support roles across LTTV’s Operations, Conservation, Stewardship, Education, Communications, Fundraising and Accreditation Programs. Exposure to and engagement with the interdisciplinary programs of the organization will be elemental to the growth and success of this position.

Desired Qualifications and Experience
The Operations Assistant position is intended to be a long-tenured position where the successful candidate will ultimately maximize operational proficiency and efficiency within and across the organization. Through education or direct experience, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following desired qualities:
- A passion for land conservation in the broader Treasure Valley and be competent in communicating that passion, consistent with LTTV’s mission and values, to the general public, partners and stakeholders, donors, and landowners.
- An inherent ability to maintain consistent organization in duties and internal communication.
- Competence with basic office management skills, including but not limited to bookkeepting, recordkeeping, and internal and external administrative communications.
- Ideally, experience in non-profit management, conservation of natural resources, and/or event coordination.
- Relatively quickly gain proficiency across multiple online and software platforms utilized by LTTV to manage operations.
- Gain basic intimacy through experience across all of LTTV’s programs (Operations, Conservation, Stewardship, Education, Communications, Fundraising, and Accreditation).
- Perform both within a team and relatively autonomously, while also identifying opportunities for enhanced operational management and proficiency, and then structuring and implementing those enhancements across the organization. The successful candidate will demonstrate the inherent capabilities and interest in furthering LTTV’s success through such operational measures – ultimately demonstrate their passion for conservation through their recognition of and commitment to the role Operations play in the organization’s success.
Additionally, the successful candidate will be competent and comfortable with regular public engagement and interaction among user groups, volunteers, partners, private landowners, neighbors, and youth. They will maintain an awareness for their role in representing the organization across a wide spectrum of constituents and their respective values. Establishing reasonable expectations and consistently delivering on those expectations with supporting communication is a keystone tenet of the organization.
Work Environment
The Operations Assistant position is expected to maintain an 85/15 office-to-field/event environment ratio. The LTTV staff and board is a relatively intimate team regularly working in coordination and complement to one another. The successful candidate will be comfortable and eager to integrate with the team. Conversely, with regards to daily affairs, the Operations Assistant will be expected to gain relative autonomy. The Operations Assistant will be stationed in the common room of the small office to greet visitors at the front door and have convenient access to the printer and filing. For these reasons successful fulfillment of the position will require the ability to complete duties amid regular distraction. LTTV operates primarily across Google and Office 365 platforms with the expectation for the Operations Assistant to gain proficiency in both.
Compensation and Benefits
The Operations Assistant will be a full-time exempt position with a salary ranging from $38-42k annually. LTTV provides health insurance and matching IRA contributions. LTTV recognizes eleven paid holidays, and new employees are granted ten days paid vacation.
Interested and qualified applicants should send a single PDF file containing cover letter, resume, and minimum of three references to Chris Colson, Executive Director for LTTV, at [email protected].
