THE POSITION: Utah Clean Energy is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to serve as our Operations Manager. This position supports and manages office operations, actively participates in sustaining a healthy team culture and work environment, manages and provides technology support, and provides project support for staff.
This position is mission-critical and plays a vital role in the success of Utah Clean Energy’s work.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technology Support 25%
- Manage system access for the tools our staff uses including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Asana, Bitdefender, and others.
- Ensure the successful utilization of Asana, Utah Clean Energy’s project management tool, within the organization including training, addressing questions, and troubleshooting.
- In conjunction with our outsourced IT consultant, implement and maintain effective information technology systems, including standardizing software and platforms, file-sharing protocols, data management and software.
- Provide the first line of support for staff IT, hybrid meeting systems, and software issues.
- Keep up to date with software updates and provide training and resources to staff on software.
- Procure and prepare new technology equipment for staff.
Executive Admin for staff 35%
- Oversee all office supply inventory, place equipment orders, and maintain positive working relationships with external vendors.
- Assist with the planning and execution of events and meetings, including coordinating schedules, logistics, materials, and vendors, for both external and internal events. (Occasional evening event assistance may be required with notice.)
- Coordinate with leadership in the hiring process. This includes job postings, scheduling interviews, and onboarding new staff members.
- This position manages the Operations Associate to ensure the office runs smoothly.
- Answering phone calls and emails and directing questions to relevant staff.
- This position provides high-level problem-solving to achieve organizational objectives and assists leadership with special projects.
Operations 40%
- Develop and implement operational policies to streamline internal processes, enhance efficiency, and support our programmatic objectives.
- Support and work with programmatic staff on various projects.
- Oversee the upkeep of the office building, organizing maintenance and cleaning.
- This position will collaborate with key staff members to track the energy performance of the Climate Innovation Center to achieve energy targets.
- Coordinate scheduling of public and private events held at the Climate Innovation Center.
ADDITIONAL SKILL SETS AND ATTRIBUTES:
Applicants should have at least an associate degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in a nonprofit organization on operations and/or IT activities. However, relevant administrative work and/or IT experience will be considered as a potential substitute for a degree.
In addition, we are seeking candidates with the following qualities:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Teams, Outlook, Excel, Bitdefender, and providing IT support.
- Experience with Asana or other project management software is highly preferred.
- Excited to engage in and support work that advances Utah Clean Energy’s mission.
- Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to work independently, while being flexible in a collaborative and evolving environment.
- Eager to take on a wide variety of tasks and help with all aspects of a small nonprofit organization, including nurturing relationships to support the continued growth of myriad functions of Utah Clean Energy.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: The pay range for this position is $55,000-$75,000 Compensation is dependent on relevant and demonstrated experience. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
Utah Clean Energy’s benefits package includes company-paid health insurance, 403(b) retirement plan contributions, life and long-term disability insurance coverage, paid vacation leave, sick leave, holiday leave, parental leave, and a hybrid work environment.
