Due to expansion in the Norfolk area, this care home group is looking for an exceptional leader to drive operations, ensuring care homes are compliant with regulatory requirements, deliver exceptional care to residents, and achieve financial and business goals.Purpose of the Role
As an experienced Operations Manager, you will report to the Regional Operations Director and play a critical role in maintaining regulatory compliance, delivering high-quality care, and achieving financial and business objectives. Your leadership, support, and mentoring will be essential in driving the success of the homes and aligning their operations with the organization’s vision and values.Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Management: Provide effective leadership and management, ensuring the recruitment and training of key roles. Foster a positive and inclusive work culture aligned with the organization’s vision and values.
  • Financial Performance: Monitor and manage financial and business performance, including budgeting, financial reporting, and business development. Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to achieve financial targets.
  • Compliance: Ensure all homes comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Implement action plans to maintain compliance and manage risks.
  • Quality of Care: Maintain and enhance the quality of care and environment for residents. Monitor and evaluate care delivery processes and outcomes, implementing improvements as needed to ensure a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies. Address and resolve concerns in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • Performance Monitoring: Implement systems to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and outcomes. Prepare regular reports for senior management and the regional operations director.
  • Training and Support: Identify training needs for managers to enhance their skills and knowledge. Provide ongoing support and mentoring to senior staff for continuous improvement.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in managing operations in a care home or similar healthcare setting
  • Excellent people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff to deliver exceptional service
  • Strong knowledge of financial management, compliance, and regulatory requirements in the care home industry
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to achieve business objectives
  • Knowledge of best practices in quality care and environment for elderly residents
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Education and Qualifications

  • NMC registered nurse with relevant post-registration experience (desirable but not essential)
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
