The WWF European Policy Office is seeking a full time “Operations Officer” to reinforce the efficiency of the Operations team and to provide timely and adequate support to the EPO Director, HR Manager and the operations unit on a variety of different tasks. The Operations Officer is a member of the Operations Team and reports to the HR Manager with a dotted reporting line to the EPO Director.

Location: WWF European Policy Office (WWF EPO) in Brussels, Belgium.

Main responsibilities and tasks:

  • Support to the EPO Director (30%): ensuring effective internal communication between the Director(s) and Heads of Units, scheduling and arranging meetings and events, notes taking, preparing presentations, booking and arranging travels;
  • Support to the HR Manager (30%): assisting with staff recruitments, annual trainings and staff developments, supporting HR and organizational initiatives, updating the EPO online portal;
  • Support to general operations, office management and governance (40%): supporting WWF network meetings and internal meetings, coordinating internal reporting and inputs, organising Board meetings and General Assembly meetings, liaising with the travel platform provider, managing office supplies.

Required skills and competencies:

  • Spoken and written language proficiency in English; ability to work in French or another EU language;
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar operations role, ideally in an NGO;
  • A proactive attitude, ability to work independently in a fast-paced international environment;
  • Excellent organisational skills; autonomous, accurate and a high attention of detail;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team spirit, discretion;
  • Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office software package, Google workspace, Windows, virtual and hybrid meetings such as Zoom and Teams;
  • Sound communication and financial skills;
  • Flexibility, enthusiasm and eagerness to learn for working on a variety of tasks;

Remuneration package:

WWF European Policy Office offers an indefinite contract with a competitive package of pay and other benefits. The indicative base salary range for this role would be around 3.200 € gross per month, with the final figure depending on the skills and experience of the successful candidate. WWF European Policy Office also offers a range of additional benefits, including allowances for lunch, public transport and home working, health insurance, pension plan, paid holiday and additional month of pay in accordance with Belgian law.
