Org. Setting and Reporting
Describe briefly the organizational setting of the job. Provide details of the reporting lines including staff appointee is responsible for and supervisor details. Responsibilities
– Operates and monitors assigned systems within the FSRM operations room in an efficient manner ensuring that all work is undertaken in compliance with UNRWA SOPs. – Ensures that all security and communications equipment are functioning and in good condition including radio communications. – Records and reports all data collected by Mobile Security Officers and other UNRWA staff in the Fields and actions taken in a clear, legible, and accurate written format to be reported FSRM Management; conducts day-to-day monitoring of media and other information sources relevant to safety and security, with the objective of alarming the FSRM Management. – Maintain a line of collaboration with UNDSS radio room in regard to security updates, STIs, advisories, mission tracking and reporting. – Perform emergency head counts using communication equipment for both International and locally recruited staff when instructed. – Provides an efficient and courteous radio and telephone answering service and deals efficiently with all enquiries; conducts radio checks with the guards and their supervisors. – Maintains an updated staffing contact list and send security advisories as directed by the FSRM Management. – Tracking and early warning or quick response to the security and safety needs of UNRWA staff through the efficient management of GSM/Satellite/Radio-based communications. – Provide GSM/Satellite base/Telecommunications ECS support and advice. – Support users through the use of applications (Android & IOS). – Issue of UNRWA ID Cards and update of the UNRWA Security ID Database. – To support FSRM administrative related works. – Performs other duties as may be assigned by the FSRM Management.

– Demonstrated communication skills and knowledge of VHF/ HF radio systems, cell phones and satellite phones. – Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others in a team environment and with people of diverse backgrounds, culture, and nationalities. – Proven ability to supervise a team and provide constructive coaching and feedback to others. – Ability to deliver quality service in a stressful working environment. – Ability to exercise a high degree of professional discretion. – Excellent computer literacy with proficiency in word processing in English and Arabic.
Education

Work Experience
at least Three years combined experience in radio communication and admin./clerical work is required Experience in fire prevention/fighting, first aid, emergency work is required. Practical working knowledge of UN administrative policies, procedures, and systems is required. Work experience in an internationally oriented environment is required.
