At Orange sky we are on a mission to Positively Connect Communities and we do this by providing the world’s-first free mobile laundry and shower service to people experiencing homelessness. The Role

We’re always looking to increase our impact and help more Friends on the street – striving to continually improve is in our DNA at Orange Sky. This role is a key member of our dynamic Operations Team working within a group of seven Operations Support Officers, and vital to the smooth operation and improvement of services across Australia.

In a nutshell, this role is responsible for:

  • Providing support to all aspects of the general volunteering journey including all aspects of the lifecycle from recruitment to exiting
  • Establishing & managing relationships with volunteers, answering questions and escalating anything that could impact on a positive volunteering experience at Orange Sky
  • Coordinating volunteer enquiries
  • Assisting with responding to vehicle incidents and resolution in a timely manner
  • Liaising with external suppliers and contractors to facilitate continuity of service
  • Building shifts for new and existing services ensuring rosters are full and a pipeline of volunteers exists.
  • Delivering general volunteer inductions

Our perfect fit is a go-getting administration and customer service extraordinaire. We’re looking for someone with experience in a similar role within a fast-paced organisation, ideally within the not-for-profit sector and working with a volunteer base.

Additionally, the ideal applicant has:

  • Proven experience in a similar role (2-3 years)
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate with a highly diverse range of people and manage a large and diverse workforce
  • Well-developed written skills and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to travel and work flexibly as required
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage complex and competing demands and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently, and within a team
  • Proactive attitude, and a genuine passion for our cause.
