The Life Alliance Organ Recovery Agency (LAORA) is currently seeking a full time OPO Hospital Services Specialist 2 to work in Miami, FL. The OPO Hospital Services Specialist 2 is responsible for hospital/ancillary provider relationship management, orientations, education, service communications, problem solving, identification and root cause analysis of persistent problems. Conducts analysis of provider rate increase requests, and collaborates with management in decision making.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Develops and coordinates programs with medical service providers in order to improve the hospital’s competitive position

  • Assists appropriate staff when needed in the procurement of any needed medical records or information pre or post recovery i.e. x-rays, EMS runs, etc

  • Educates the pre-hospital care provider community in order to keep them informed of the changes in the standards of care they are required to deliver, market the hospital full ranges of services to the provider community, and develop a stronger relationship between the hospital and these providers

  • Acts as customer service liaison between the hospital and service providers with the objective of establishing and strengthening relationships as well as increasing the number of patients that these services bring to the hospital
    Develops and coordinates marketing and educational programs aimed at promoting and increasing the full range of services within area hospitals

  • Maintains hospital referral base and implements strategies aimed at increasing and improving performance outcomes in all hospital services

  • Sustains relationships with referring physicians and nursing staff, and initiates changes in practice to increase the quality of the hospital services

  • Establishes multi-disciplinary councils to develop standards of practices that will optimize outcomes

  • Participates in collaborative hospital committees, departmental/administrative meetings in assigned hospitals

  • Performs public and professional education or other hospital development functions on an as-needed basis

  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare, nursing, social work, nonprofit management, communications, or similar field.

  • A minimum of two years’ experience working in health care, communications, or OPO/Tissue Banking field is required.

  • Experience with physician-relations is highly preferred.

  • Relevant OPO experience is a plus.
