About the role 

As an Orange Door Senior Practitioner, working in a multidisciplinary integrated Orange Door agency team, you will deliver quality, safe, and effective responses to children, young people, and families experiencing family violence.

Working across more complex presentations across a range of issues incl. substance abuse, behaviour change, disability, etc. you will deliver intake support via phone, within the Orange Door site and through outreach visits. As Senior Practitioner you will lean in on and be supported with Team Leadership responsibilities as needed.

You will act as proxy in various integration, agency and funder meetings and also be involved in audits, quality improvement activities and other projects and tasks. In addition, you will: 

  • Manage an active caseload 
  • Mentor and support newer team members including being responsible for Social Work student placements 
  • Delivery screening and triage, assessment, crisis responses, service planning, targeted interventions, allocation and coordinated referrals
  • Work collaboratively to support integrated risk assessment and planning 
  • Refer clients to services within the broader service system and provide them information and support

About you

You are keen to progress your career into leadership and seek an organisation that will provide you the support and opportunity. You enjoy imparting your knowledge and experience to newer practitioners through mentoring activities. You will bring: 

  • Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent as per the mandatory minimum qualification requirements for specialist family violence practitioners
  • Experience, skills, and capabilities in child, youth, and families welfare particularly working with complex cases
  • Well-developed risk assessment and management skills 
  • Understanding of the broader service system referral pathways
  • Sound understanding of the MARAM Framework, Best Interests Principles and the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005
  • Valid and current Driver’s License
