About the assignment
We’re looking for an Organisational Management Mentor who can live and volunteer in Goroka, Eastern Highlands Province, Papua New Guinea for 6 months.
- Participate in assisting the leadership and management skills of key personnel and conduct assessments of the organisation’s current structure, processes, and management practices to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
- To be considered for this role, you will need a bachelor’s degree in business administration, organisational management, leadership, or a related field that can provide a strong foundation of knowledge and skills relevant to mentoring in organisational management.
- Have an opportunity to experience working with a dedicated team that strives to improve maternal and infant health outcomes in the Eastern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea.
About the Partner Organisation:
Waniati Development Association Inc. is a community initiative organisation (Non-Government Organisation), operating in Goroka, Eastern Highlands Province. The organisation aims to promote and provide quality health services through innovative approaches supporting maternal and Child healthcare through health education for rural majority and urban pregnant mothers or girls in the communities and schools to be informed on the risks associated during and after childbirth or lack of public health care information.
The organisation’s vision is to see our urban disadvantaged and rural majority of the pregnant mothers be accommodated and cared with basic necessities before delivery, thereby increasing the level of safe delivery and reducing the maternal mortality throughout PNG. Waniati Development Association Inc. has constructed a Maternity Waiting House in the heart of Goroka where it provides health facility with easy reach of Goroka Provincial Hospital. The Maternity Waiting Home provides accommodation and basic care for disadvantaged women post labour.

- AUD $1,680 per month
Requirements
- All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV).
- A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.
- A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
Additional requirements for this assignment include: obtaining a First Aid Certificate.
