Summer camp team leaders provide instruction in outdoor recreation and science-based camps. Camp activities include:
- Firearms safety
- Archery
- Fishing
- Canoeing
- Wilderness navigation
- Wilderness survival
- Indoor rock wall
- Overnight camping
- STEM
- Wildlife management
The Deep Portage Learning Center campus sits on 6,307 acres of pristine wilderness. Off-time adventures for exploring lakes, rivers, forests, and local sites are endless. Staff are allowed to borrow camp gear free of charge. This position is commonly used to fulfill internship requirements for undergraduate education, recreation, and outdoor education programs.
Campers are onsite (overnight camps) Sunday afternoon-Thursday.
Qualifications:
- Currently working toward an associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree (or recently graduated)
- Experience working with youth
$375/week. High quality staff housing for the summer and meals when campers are present.
