Rosies Friends on the Street, is one of Queensland’s most beloved organisations, reaching out to those most vulnerable by offering a sense of community and belonging.

Underpinned by Catholic social teaching, Rosies extends unconditional friendship to those experiencing homelessness, disadvantage or social isolation. With over 14 locations and more than 1650 volunteers, this is an opportunity to contribute to an organisation making a meaningful difference to some of Queensland’s most marginalised members of our communities.

Reporting to the CEO and working as part of a small hands-on team, the primary focus of the Outreach and Volunteer Manager is to lead strategic initiatives aimed at fostering growth while overseeing and ensuring the highest quality of service delivery.

You will be accountable for the effective delivery of the Outreach Program, optimising performance and expanding services, where required, across Queensland. Working with a Volunteer Coordinator and a team of geographically dispersed Volunteer Branch Coordinators, you will ensure the seamless delivery of support services, best practice volunteer management, swift incident resolution and targeted growth strategies, all the while pursuing continuous improvement.

Your role will be pivotal in ensuring operational excellence, developing actionable plans, and identifying new opportunities for the Outreach program while advancing their mission of providing unconditional friendship. At the same time, you will drive the development and improvement of operational systems and procedures to support the delivery of our Outreach program. It is crucial that the successful candidate will foster strong relationships across the sector, as well as internally, to drive the best service outcomes.

This role underpins the delivery of Rosies mission and requires an energetic, compassionate, strategic-thinking individual to work with our dedicated team of volunteers across the State. It is important to also note that you will be working as part of a small and highly engaged team, without the back-up and resources of a larger organisation. Strong problem solving and leadership skills, along with a strong track record of success likely gained in a hands-on NFP team would be valued, supported by tertiary qualifications in community services, human services/social science or a business-related field.

This is a fulfilling and wonderful opportunity at a truly service centred organisation.
