Summary
The Outreach Manager plays an essential role in maintaining the public image of the organization and our programs through press relations, social media presence, website maintenance, support for major fundraising events and campaigns, and direct outreach and tabling events in the community. The Outreach Manager also assists in maintaining daily operations of the organization and our facility, the Humboldt Coastal Nature Center. Working closely and collaboratively with staff and volunteers, the Outreach Manager offers administrative support for programs, fund development, special events, and financial management.
Required Qualifications
- Fluent in Spanish
- Familiarity with Friends of the Dunes and our programs
- Background in, or familiarity with, coastal ecology and/or ecosystem restoration
- At least 1 year work or volunteer experience with media management and relations
- At least 1 year work or volunteer experience in office administration or management
- At least 1 year work or volunteer experience with a non-profit organization
- Experience in maintaining social media profiles, including Facebook and Instagram
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and Google Suite programs (Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.)
