Description

he Outreach Mobile Worker will be a crucial part of the MHPSS (Mental Health and Psychosocial Support) team at the IID’s MHPSS center in Mosul. The primary role of the Outreach Mobile Worker is to provide PSS (Psychosocial Support) and MHPSS services to Iraqi returnees across various locations in Mosul and Ninewa Governorate. This role involves close collaboration with MHPSS coordinators, case managers, social workers, PSS facilitators, psychotherapists, psychiatrists, and the M&E (Monitoring and Evaluation) officer to ensure comprehensive support and care for beneficiaries. The Outreach Mobile Worker will also work with the media coordinator to develop PSS and MHPSS awareness campaigns. This position requires more than 90% travel to returnee locations in Mosul.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Service Delivery
  • Conduct outreach activities to identify and engage with Iraqi returnees in need of PSS and MHPSS services.
  • Provide on-site PSS and MHPSS support to individuals and groups across various locations in Mosul and Ninewa Governorate.
  • Facilitate group sessions and community activities to promote mental health and psychosocial well-being.
  • Conduct home visits and follow-up sessions as required.
  • Coordination and Collaboration
    • Work closely with MHPSS coordinators, case managers, social workers, PSS facilitators, psychotherapists, and psychiatrists to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to care.
    • Coordinate with the M&E officer to track progress, collect data, and report on outcomes.
    • Collaborate with the media coordinator to create and implement PSS and MHPSS awareness campaigns.
    • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to case discussions and planning.
  • Monitoring and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all activities and services provided.
    • Collect and report data on beneficiary needs, service delivery, and outcomes.
    • Contribute to the development of reports and documentation required by the IID and funding partners.
  • Capacity Building
    • Participate in training and capacity-building activities to enhance skills and knowledge related to MHPSS.
    • Support community awareness initiatives to promote understanding and acceptance of mental health services.
  • Ethics and Confidentiality
    • Adhere to ethical guidelines and principles in all interactions with beneficiaries.

    Ensure the confidentiality and privacy of beneficiaries’ information.

    Qualifications & Preferred Skills

    • Education:
      • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, mental health, or a related field.
    • Experience:
      • At least 2 years of experience in providing psychosocial support and/or mental health services, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
      • Experience working with displaced populations, returnees, or vulnerable groups is highly desirable.
      • Previous experience in outreach or mobile service delivery is an advantage.
    • Skills and Competencies:
      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
      • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with various stakeholders.
      • Proficiency in Arabic; knowledge of English is an advantage.
      • Ability to manage sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
      • Flexibility and adaptability to work in different locations and challenging environments.

    Note: This position requires more than 90% travel within Mosul and Ninewa Governorate. Candidates must be willing and able to travel to various locations as part of their duties.
