    Contract length: daily contract (based on needs), period of 6 months (Based on the Donor approval the selected candidate will be notified of the confirmed start date.)

    Background

    People in Need (PIN) is an international, non-profit organization providing humanitarian and development assistance in over 20 countries worldwide. Formed in 1992 in the Czech Republic, PIN has grown to be the biggest organisation of its kind in post-communist Europe, providing relief where it is needed, and empowering civil society at home and abroad.

    PIN maintains a strong presence in Iraq and has gradually extended its activities across the Governorates of Ninawa, Salah Al-din, Kirkuk and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Typical recipients of our aid are internally displaced persons, returnees, and people who survived the fighting near their homes and meet the pre-defined vulnerability criteria.

    Apart from humanitarian aid, PIN is currently working on long-term programs supporting restoring livelihoods, education, access to water and hygiene. These programs should facilitate people´s return to their original homes and support the stabilisation process after the defeat and removal of ISIS.

     

    Tasks and Responsibilities:

     

    • Work with the Project Manager and the field officers to ensure proper engagement with the communities in the target areas of implementation.
    • Support the Project Manager and Officers in creating the Workplans for the community sensitization and engagement sessions.
    • Support in the preparation of the sessions’ materials including topics, visibility and handouts.
    • Lead on the sensitization sessions with the community and ensure proper documentation of the engagement events.
    • Ensure proper archiving of the activities’ documents in line with PIN procedures for documents retention.
    • Responsibilities for motivation and mobilization of target communities for high-quality standard program implementation. Maintain good relationship with Communities and be aware of the sensitivity about the communities’ cultures and tradition.
    • Organize and lead participatory workshops and meetings in communities for implementation of project relevant activities, increase community acceptance and build positive image of PIN.
    • Establish working and coordination partnership among the local authorities, and community elders for overcoming the challenges ahead the project.
    • Conduct awareness sessions for beneficiaries, community committees, community youth and women youth and ensure that messages are well understood.
    • contribute to timely reporting from the field ensuring quality, accuracy, and consistency with the project operating procedures (namely timely data collection) and expected standards, being mindful of PINs Code of Conduct and Data Protection Policies. And ensuring collection of information is gathered in a transparent and respectful manner.
    • Deliver weekly work plan in high-quality standards and provide work progress reports to Project Officer/Field Officer.
    • Ensure the effective and efficient use of all PIN resources in order to keep costs low and ensure safety in the workplace.
    • Support the MEAL officer in conducting base line midterm review project-end participatory community assessments and evaluation in project coverage area.
    • Any other task given by line manager.
