Paediatric Senior Staff Nurse – Band 6 To ensure the provision of high standards of holistic care for the group of patients within their sphere of responsibility. To act as the designated deputy for the Sister/Charge nurse. To act as the operational manager in their absence.   • RSCN/RN Child Branch, with evidence of regular professional updating
  • Mentorship, ENB998 or equivalent

  • Educated or working towards degree level
  • APLS/EPLS training

Educated or working towards degree levelEssential

  • Ability to work at an advanced practice level and confident and competent to make appropriate decisions
  • Competent in the administration of IV drugs.
  • Ability to be responsive/reactive and flexible.
  • Leadership and mentorship skills

Knowledge and SkillsEssential

  • Up to date knowledge of paediatric nursing and professional developments.
  • Good working knowledge of current child safeguarding issues
