Job Summary:
As a School Paediatrician, you will play a crucial role in promoting the health and well-being of students within the school community. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting health screenings, assessments, and providing medical care for students. The goal is to ensure early detection and intervention for any health-related issues, ultimately contributing to a healthy and conducive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct regular thorough examinations on young children to check and record their health and normal physical development
· Identify and address any potential health concerns or developmental delays through screenings.
· Recommending patients for further treatments and to specialists when needed
· Reach an informed diagnosis based on scientific knowledge and individual medical history
· Assess and diagnose childhood illnesses, including chronic and acute conditions, or any other condition that is within the expertise and knowledge of the paediatrician.
· Provide age-appropriate education based on growth and developmental factors, cultural and belief variables and family systems
· Ensure that the health teams have access to safety equipment appropriate to their activities (e.g., PEP kits, gloves, etc.)
· Provide health education to students, and school staff on topics such as nutrition, hygiene, and preventive care, etc
· Coordinate with external healthcare providers and specialists as needed for comprehensive care.
· Maintain accurate and confidential medical records for each student.
Paediatrician skills:
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Excellent patient and family interaction and time management skills
· Strong analytical and problem-solving ability and stress tolerance
· Extensive knowledge of diagnostic, treatment, and rehabilitation processes
· Current information regarding drugs and medications acceptable for children and the side effects
· Ready to work within multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary teams
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Medical degree with a specialization in Paediatrics with 2-years’ experience /3 years’ experience minimum as a Medical Doctor in paediatrics hospital is preferred.
Experience in paediatric care, preferably in a school or community health setting.
LANGUAGES
Comfortable in English, Arabic, and Kurdish is a must.
