We are seeking a highly motivated Paralegal to join our Legal team at Achieve Australia on a part-time basis: 2 days a week.

As a Paralegal, you will play a critical role in supporting our Legal Counsel and General Counsel in managing legal matters, with a focus on employment and operational matters. If you have a strong understanding of relevant law, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Legal Counsel and General Counsel in researching and reporting on the effect of legislation on the business.
  • Provide support on employment matters to Legal Counsel and the People Performance and Culture team.
  • Assist with projects undertaken by the Legal function.
  • Draft court documents and other legal documentation.
  • Assist with regulatory matters and respond to requests for information.
  • Support the Legal function in staying informed of new or proposed legislation and policy.
  • Gather information from various departments to prepare contracts and other legal documents (under the supervision of legal counsel).

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Knowledge of relevant law, including Privacy Law, Corporations Law, and Employment Law.
  • Knowledge of general legal terminology and legal principles.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyse and review contracts and other legal documents.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively.
