Your new role
The Team Leader will manage and oversee our client intake, as part of an overhaul of our intake processes that will be rolled out mid-year. The Team Leader will directly manage our paralegals across both stream of work, client intake and legal support to our Lawyers.
- Manage the workflow for the entire paralegal team.
- Assist with more complex intake and use sound judgement to make appropriate referrals as needed.
- Manage the legal roster for all lawyers covering advice appointments and duty services.
- Manage the intake process, including triage.
This is a full time or part time (minimum 4 days) position.
What you’ll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you should have a demonstrated understanding of legal services including client intake and the role paralegal staff have in supporting these services. Your ability to be flexible, coupled with outstanding organisational and administrative skills, will be key.
- Strong skills in supporting and interviewing help seekers, including undertaking risk assessments for safety and triaging;
- Experience with working with women experiencing family violence.
- Experience supervising or mentoring a team or junior staff members (desirable).
