The Parks Administrator position serves as the division head for the County’s Parks, Trails, and Open Space division. The position has significant responsibility and plays a crucial role in the efficient and effective operation of the County’s robust portfolio of parks, trails, and open space properties. In this role, you will oversee the future planning, construction, administration and maintenance of County facilities stretching from the beaches of Lake Tahoe to urban neighborhood parks in Western Placer County near Roseville. Your primary responsibility will be to lead a dedicated team of staff and ensure these facilities are fully operational, well maintained, and serve Placer County’s residents and visitors.

The ideal candidate for the Parks Administrator position will be a seasoned leader known for their knowledge, experience, and expertise in the fields of parks operations, park and land use planning, and fiscal management. A strong ability to represent the County’s Parks, Trails, and Open Space Division to the public, other County departments, the County’s Board of Supervisors, and other agencies is essential. Team leadership, collaboration skills, and a strong sense of vision for the future will be keys to success in this growing area of County operations. Key skill sets include the ability to work well with and lead others, personnel management skills, budget and finance expertise including the management of special districts, service districts, assessment districts, and other types of restricted or dedicated funds, familiarity with specific plan development including development service agreements and their implementation, and the ability to balance focus between a multitude of highly varied projects and workloads. Experience with the development and implementation of new policies, municipal fees, and other projects is key in our rapidly growing County.
