Position Title Part-Time Academic: NURS 4471 (Emergency Preparedness) – Summer 2024

Job Summary & Key Responsibilities This 3-credit elective focuses on preparation of future nurses for various hazards using an “all hazards” approach. Local, provincial and national disaster response systems, in the event of a mass casualty, are explored, and the ability to care for victims and responders of all types of hazards is emphasized.
FORMAT:
Online, asynchronous
This appointment runs from May 1 – July 31, 2024. The part-time academic instructor reports directly to the Director, School of Nursing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Development of teaching and learning activities related to course-specific topic
• Teach course content
• Assessment and evaluation of student learning
• Use of Brightspace for course delivery
• Responding to student queries about coursework
• Attending initial instruction with Instructional Learning Online services re: Brightspace
• Participation in course discussions within the program
• Develop and administer examinations
• Submission of grades
• Follow up with students as necessary
Qualifications/Requirements of Position Applicant must hold a graduate Nursing degree, have sufficient expertise in the area of emergency nursing and teaching experience.
Salary Range/Pay Rate Per CUPE Collective Agreement
