The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation (Kvinna till Kvinna) is looking for a part-time Communication Officer to join its Western Balkans unit. The Communication Officer will work remotely, covering activities and producing contents from across Western Balkan countries we are working in. If you are a passionate women’s rights advocate with communication, PR, and outreach experience, then you might be the one we are looking for to become part of our team, and work to support women’s rights in Western Balkans.

About the job:
Kvinna till Kvinna was first established in the Western Balkans, and currently has three programme offices in the region, located in Belgrade, Sarajevo and Skopje. The focus of our work in the Western Balkan region is women’s rights and women’s participation in the EU integration process, combating gender-based violence, promoting peacebuilding, and security for women human rights defenders.
As Communication Officer Western Balkans, you are part of the Program Department and report to the Regional Manager for the Western Balkans, working in close coordination and with guidance, and supervision from the Communication Manager for Western Balkans.
Responsibilities:
The Communication Officer holds the responsibility, under the supervision and in coordination with the Western Balkans Communication Manager, for raising and safeguarding Kvinna till Kvinna’s visibility and image, supporting regional programmes, as well as Kvinna till Kvinna’s other operations in the Western Balkans, and pertaining to Western Balkans through external and internal communication, outreach, advocacy and visibility actions:
1. Content production and sharing:
– Content production and publishing on social media accounts (Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube and other on-needs basis), and kvinnatillkvinna.org,
– Coordination and liaison with partner organisations and key stakeholders for content/material production — articles, interviews, videos, campaigns, publications, etc.,
– Regional Advocacy Hub administration,
– Liaison with service providers, and product production supervision in line with Kvinna till Kvinna’s Visual Identity Guidelines and the Brand Book.
– Photography production; regular update of Q-bank (Kvinna till Kvinna’s photo bank).
2. Visibility planning and monitoring:
– Strategic content planning and implementation monitoring — preparation of communication and visibility action plans,
– Visibility monitoring,
– Event organization,
– Media relations.
3.Support to Kvinna till Kvinna’s partner organizations:
– On-needs basis production of contents for partner/stakeholders,
– Provision of on-needs basis capacity development tasks.
4.Other tasks as assigned by line Regional Manager for Western Balkans
About you
To be successful as a Communication Officer you need to be team oriented, responsible, adaptable and analytical, using a rights-based approach in communication.
Kvinna till Kvinna is looking for someone with good social and outreach skills and ability to cooperate with a range of partners and stakeholders, who acts as an ambassador for the organisation. You should enjoy working independently as well as in close cooperation with others, with the ability to prioritise, deliver and stay solution oriented. You can handle peaks of intense workload.
Professional qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in communication, journalism, PR or related field;
• Min. three years of work experience in communication, advocacy or similar, preferably in reference to human rights, women’s rights, gender equality;
• Excellent English written and oral communication skills, including in Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian, and/or Albanian, Macedonian;
• Excellent understanding of social media and other communication platforms;
• Visual content production — knowledge of use of visual content production platforms and programmes;
• Working experience from one or several Western Balkans countries, and/or strong familiarity with the context;
• A good grasp of the standard Microsoft Office package;
• Willingness to travel in the Western Balkan region and the EU;
• Thorough knowledge of the civil society sector in WB and its role;
• Experience in regional work in the Western Balkan area is meriting.
• Valid drivers’ license.
Terms & conditions and what we offer
This is a position under the national labour legislation at the place of employment (Bosnia & Herzegovina, North Macedonia or Serbia), open for candidates from these countries as well as from Albania, Kosovo or Montenegro with valid work and residence permit in one of the above-mentioned countries.
The position is part-time, with between 25-50% engagement of a fulltime position, depending on the situation, wishes and agreement with the successful candidate. It is foreseen as an opportunity that can be combined with other engagements. Starting date as soon as possible.
