Part-time Development and Partnerships Specialist

Reports to: Executive Director

Location: Remote within Oregon

Position Overview:

The Development and Partnerships Specialist will provide part-time support for fundraising events, donor engagement, and grants management. This position will work directly with the Executive Director to grow Oregon Shores’ revenue. This role is designed to assist with financial development tasks, event planning, and administrative functions to help the organization achieve its mission. Candidates with lived experience relevant to communities most impacted by environmental issues are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising and Donor Relations (75%)

• Coordinate and send fundraising bulk mailings and emails with the Executive Director.
• Prepare donor acknowledgements for the Executive Director
• Research major donors and produce personalized correspondence to support relationship-building efforts. Maintain a spreadsheet of major donors.
• Enter and update donor information in the LGL CRM database to ensure accuracy.
• Lead planning and execution of fundraising events, such as Surf & Sun and Toast to the Coast.
• Cultivate business sponsorships, specifically through the “Shoreline Sponsors” program.

Grants and Reporting (20%)

• Assist Executive Director with generating materials necessary for grant proposals
• Edit grant applications and reports and assist with small grant writing tasks as needed.
• Maintain a master grants spreadsheet to track foundation/grant deadlines, submissions, reporting schedules, etc. Research new grant opportunities.
• Support tracking fundraising efforts and assist with quarterly reports for the Board of Directors.

Administrative and Organizational Support (5%)

• Monitor strategic plan metrics and update work plans.

Job Requirements:

• Strong experience organizing fundraising events for 100+ people, with demonstrated net revenue
• Experience writing and managing nonprofit grants
• Experience in nonprofit donor relations management and recruitment
• Knowledge of donor management tools (e.g., Little Green Light) or willingness to learn.
• Strong written communication skills, especially for donor correspondence
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility principles and experience applying these principles to fundraising
• Capacity to work independently and manage tasks within a flexible, remote, part-time schedule
• Ability to contribute to an inclusive, supportive workplace environment
• Experience working with a diverse range of individuals, including communities most impacted by environmental issues

Location and Hours: 

• Part-time, hourly position. 12-15 hours per week with a flexible schedule.
• This job requires travel; candidates must have a valid Oregon driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• All Oregon locations will be considered.
• Office: Oregon Shores is a virtual organization with no fixed office. The Development and Partnerships Specialist is expected to provide a home office or an equivalent remote location for their work with access to communication devices (e.g., a computer, internet, phone).
